About - ‘My recent work has grown out of an interest in memory and how we understand our past. My recollections of childhood, the fears, anxieties and important relationships I have had are all explored in my work.

I have looked at these ideas using clay in part because it is a natural medium that we are all familiar with. Clay has been used to make so many of the objects we use in daily life that it acts as a timeline through history. It is as if I am communicating a story through this medium.

Porcelain is one of my favourite materials because of its interesting physical properties. It can be extremely fragile but when fired to the correct temperature it becomes as strong as glass. It can be raku fired, glazed and mixed with a range of other materials. This versatility makes porcelain an exciting and effective medium for the ideas I am currently interested in.’
